Coral Bay , WA

Left Exmouth with the idea of staying two/ three days at coral bay , leaving tomorrow after 10 days .
The town is very small with a population of 150 , it has two camping /caravan parks , a hotel with pub and some small shops that are all geared up to tourism. As you drive in the road finishes where the beach starts and what a beautiful place . Stunning clear blue water, white sand and the ningaloo reef on the horizon. The bay is great swimming with coral reefs very close to the shore so really easy snorkeling , it is also a marine park so with no fishing allowed in the main bay it is full of fish , rays etc.
Around the headland is a shark nursery where the juvenile sharks gather before heading off as they grow older. We counted 40 in the surf and as the water is shallow they come very close to the beach , not a place to paddle.
We spent the days swimming , snorkeling , beach walking and some beach fishing but with no luck. There are fishing charters that cost $ 260 pp and they go out to the reef with great success judging by what they brought back at the end of the day to fillet , snapper, sweetlip , coral trout etc.
The other pleasant surprise was the pub it is a rarity in WA as it is showing the rugby world cup live so we managed to be able to see a few games. Saw the England game against Scotland and got confused as the English support team where not swapping the balls when Jonny went to kick !
Today was the last day , it is school holidays this week and next in WA so the place is pretty chocker as you would expect so time for us to go.
Hired a kayak today and went out to see the reef etc , is it me or are both kayakers meant to paddle ?
Off to Carnarvon tomorrow for a couple of night ( booked a cabin so we can watch the quarter finals in peace ) before going to a place called Quobba for 5 nights which should be a bit out of the way for the last week of school holidays
